Bechtel is seeking a highly skilled professional to monitor and organize direct hire or subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders’ involvement.
The project is located in the high desert and wide-open spaces of north-central Nevada, about 25 miles from the Oregon border, 1 hour northwest of Winnemucca, Nevada, and 3 hours northeast of Reno.
Job Summary
In this role, you will coordinate and instruct subcontractor’s management staff to ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely. Major Responsibilities
Monitor and organize subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff within the area of responsibility. Monitor direct hire or subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements. Prepare Direct Hire methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements and/or review subcontractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements. Coordinate the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules. Monitor installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements. Enforce policies, procedures, and related work rules as established by field construction management. Support Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents. Coordinate engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals. Coordinate with Design on constructability issues. Education And Experience Requirements
Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience. Required Knowledge And Skills
Familiarity with construction tools and equipment as well as their uses. Extensive technical knowledge and experience in electrical operations to ensure adequate coordination with all stakeholders for smooth and safe execution. Technical knowledge and experience in electrical codes and operations to ensure adequate coordination with all stakeholders for smooth and safe execution. Proficiency in Microsoft suite in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Experience managing union craft. Heavy industrial US direct hire construction experience. Extensive working knowledge of construction planning, monitoring, and control. Knowledge of the use of subcontracts and knowledge of the contractor/subcontractor's responsibilities contained in subcontract documents. Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to the area of responsibility. Knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations. Knowledge of Bechtel's Zero Accidents safety program. Excellent customer relations and communication skills. Total Rewards/Benefits
