We’re seeking a hands-on technical leader who is passionate about automation, loves building scalable systems, and is eager to mentor and guide a small but growing team. As a
Lead Azure Automation & Platform Engineer , you’ll own the design, implementation, and governance of automation frameworks and cloud-native platforms that enable teams to move faster, safer, and smarter. This is both a builder and leader role—you’ll roll up your sleeves to create solutions, while also shaping strategy and leading engineers. Key Responsibilities: Lead automation strategy and execution : Design and maintain automation frameworks to streamline infrastructure deployment, management, and security in Azure. Architect Azure-first platforms : Build and optimize IaaS and PaaS solutions leveraging Azure-native services. Infrastructure-as-Code leadership : Own Terraform/Terragrunt standards, modules, and patterns for scalable, reusable IaC. Hands-on automation : Script in Bash, PowerShell, and Python, and use Ansible for configuration management. Modern workloads : Support containerized workloads and orchestration using Kubernetes (AKS). Identity & security : Manage identity, access, and governance via Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD). Platform enablement : Champion platform engineering by delivering self-service capabilities that empower developers. Team leadership : Mentor, coach, and provide technical oversight to a small team of engineers while collaborating with cross-functional leaders. Reliability & compliance : Ensure systems align with security, resiliency, and compliance best practices. Qualifications: Bachelor’s in computer science, Information Systems, or related field. 7+ years in cloud engineering, with deep expertise in Azure services and ecosystem. Proven leadership experience—mentoring or managing engineers while staying hands-on. Strong skills with Terraform and Terragrunt for IaC. Advanced scripting in Bash, PowerShell, and Python. Hands-on experience with Ansible and Kubernetes (AKS preferred). In-depth knowledge of identity and access management with Microsoft Entra ID. Track record of building secure, scalable, and resilient automation solutions. Strong grasp of platform engineering and developer enablement practices. Preferred Skills: Experience implementing GitOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions). Familiarity with observability stacks and incident response best practices. Strong knowledge of Azure security, governance, and compliance frameworks. Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills. Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Certified:
