Static Stress & F&DT Structure Engineers
to join our Engineering department based in Wichita, Kansas. You will be part of a team that supports the development of aircraft structures as a Static Stress or F&DT analyst. Duties include performing complex static or F&DT analysis for both metallic and non-metallic parts while collaborating with design colleagues to provide quality solutions. Methods include classical hand calculations and computer techniques to develop high strength to weight ratio structures. Your team

Located on the Wichita State University (WSU) innovation campus, Airbus’ first dedicated engineering facility outside of Europe. Our team of 200+ support staff and engineers focuses on aerostructure design including analysis of aircraft primary structures, such as wings and fuselages, for all major Airbus products globally. Responsibilities
Work on unusually complex technical problems and provide highly innovative solutions. Document analyses in support of trade studies or detail drawing sign-off for airframe structure. Collaborate with other technical departments to solve complex problems. Develop advanced technological ideas and guide their development into a final product. Mentor less experienced structural analysts and provide leadership across a complex set of problems. Lead aspects of major projects successfully; set objectives, timelines, and tasks. Demonstrate effective listening and speaking with all levels of management and external stakeholders. Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aero, Civil, or Mechanical) with emphasis on structural design/analysis and mechanics of materials. Minimum 12 years total structure analysis experience in primary airframe structures. Experience in composite aircraft structure (airframe). In-depth knowledge of classical and numerical (Finite Element) stress analysis methods. Strong computer background (MS Office and Google Suite). Authorized to Work in the US. Prefer experience with A350, A220 Pylon or other Airbus commercial aircraft. Physical Requirements
Onsite 90% or remote as applicable. Vision, hearing, speaking, and manual dexterity to perform duties; ability to read, operate computers, and use PPE as required. Ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs (14 kg) and to stand, sit, walk, and travel as needed. Personal Protective Equipment: Safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks, gloves as required by site. Benefits and Career Development
