Fairmont Breakers is Long Beach’s luxury hotel property with 185 rooms and suites, a rooftop pool and terrace, spa and fitness center, dining venues, bars, and 10,000 square feet of function space. The role supports maintenance operations across the property to ensure high standards of service and safety. Responsibilities
Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service Ensure the overall maintenance of the facility Respond to daily guest room calls for maintenance issues (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, internet, TV) with high customer service and guest concern attention Maintain all brand and quality luxury service standards Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team for fire, accident, safety concerns and medical assistance calls Perform routine general maintenance and repair of minor problems as directed Perform tasks such as light plumbing, electrical and guest door lock repair Maintain a Daily Activity Maintenance log Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way Follow department policies, procedures and service standards Conduct routine preventative maintenance on equipment and guest room systems Maintain and repair HVAC/R field as directed; care for refrigeration and HVAC equipment in guest rooms, ballrooms, offices, etc. Use Building Management System applications and schedule temperatures for events to meet comfort levels Update records related to refrigerant usage as required by EPA Complete work orders for electrical, mechanical, and door lock repairs Perform light plumbing tasks and drain clearing as needed Document and maintain proper records Maintain and repair kitchen equipment and pool equipment (repair, filter cleaning, water testing, chemical balancing) Paint and drywall repairs; assist with furniture, woodworking, doors, ceilings, tile, sheetrock and hardware throughout the hotel Participate in preventative maintenance projects (daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual) for hotel equipment and guest rooms Assist with operating a forklift when required Maintain, monitor and log equipment in Central Plant (boilers, chillers, cooling towers) Repair, maintain, and dismantle structures as needed Move furniture, supplies, and equipment; assist with projects involving furniture, doors, walls, and hardware Use appropriate tools safely and work to maintain safety standards Maintain doors, furniture, windows, artwork, headboards, mirrors, etc.; perform shop work to repair/build furniture Work flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, overnight, weekends and holidays Maintain adequate stock of parts and ensure cleanliness in assigned spaces Adhere to OSHA and NEC codes and internal safety policies; follow SDS and safety precautions Identify and report fire hazards or health and safety hazards Maintain regular and predictable attendance Other duties as assigned Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous experience in a Maintenance role required Electrical, plumbing and basic maintenance skills Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications required EPA certification preferred Certified Refrigeration & HVAC mechanic a plus Basic drywall repair and painting skills; ability to match texture Experience with chiller, boiler, water treatment, cooling tower preferred Ability to work as part of a team and with minimal supervision Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals Ability to write routine reports and speak before groups Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions What Is In It For You
