Lead Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

Lead Instrumentation & Controls Engineer
to join our team in
Houston, TX . The candidate will be involved in projects with our Power Generation Team and be part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. Your Impact Provide instrumentation and control engineering support to client owners, including: Developing criteria and specifications for new power projects Reviewing documents generated by sub-contractors and equipment vendors during project execution Reporting and monitoring construction progress Responding to questions from construction contractors Development of instrumentation and control design documents for power generation projects Coordinate with colleagues in other engineering disciplines on multi-discipline projects Coordinate with clients, equipment vendors, and contractors on projects Provide field commissioning support on project start-up efforts Work independently and efficiently with limited oversight Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures while exercising responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs Who You Are Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering 7+ years of Power Generation Instrumentation and Controls experience Essential Professional Licensure Demonstrated ability to coordinate and direct subcontractors and others to complete tasks safely and efficiently Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and harassment policies Flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities in a high-pressure environment Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements Preferred Qualifications Experience leading a group of engineers is a plus Experience with power plant control systems Network and SCADA Design Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Visio, Access, etc. WSP Benefits WSP provides a comprehensive benefits package focused on health and financial stability, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement savings, paid time off, paid sick leave, parental leave, and bereavement/voting/other leave as applicable. Compensation Expected Salary (all locations): $98,300 - $234,700 WSP USA reserves the right to adjust the offered compensation based on factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and geographic location.
