Kimley-Horn's Sacramento office is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their Renewable Energy team! This is not a remote position. Responsibilities
Lead the design of electrical systems including renewable generation, energy storage, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, building electrical, and battery storage projects. Perform design on a wide variety of projects, such as photometrics and lighting, power distribution, EV charging, and more. Develop design documents and reports, including electrical layouts, equipment schematics, system calculations, and one-line diagrams. Collaborate daily with multi-disciplinary teams across Kimley-Horn offices. Prepare project specifications, cost estimates, and proposals to support growth in electrical engineering services nationally. Assist in mentoring and growing the team to expand the Renewable Energy practice. Develop reports and design documents, including electrical plans, EV infrastructure, equipment selection, solar sizing, and power analyses. Qualifications
4+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering. PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Understanding of NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards. Willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings. Teamwork and mentorship skills. Preferred: experience in utility-scale PV, MEP, HVAC, wind, energy storage, EV infrastructure, microgrid, substation, or data centers; project management; proficiency in AutoCAD; power system analysis tools; lighting design; programming skills in Python or MATLAB. Salary Range
