Overview

Senior/ Staff Engineer, Process Safety Management based in Houston, TX. This role is a subject matter expert in process safety and risk management, providing process safety subject matter expertise and program management across company assets. Supports LNG Operations & Maintenance, Pipeline Operations, and Engineering Teams to ensure programs and activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements, permits, and company policies and procedures. Responsibilities And Essential Duties

Serve as Cheniere’s primary technical expert for one or more areas of process safety, which may include building and facility siting, process hazard analysis, fire and gas detection, or other areas of process safety and risk management. Develop and maintain governance documents, oversee site studies, conduct assurance activities, and serve as a primary advisor to senior HSE and Operations leadership on capital investments. Collaborate with site process safety teams to align company and industry practices related to process safety topics such as building and facility siting, process hazard analysis, fire and gas detection, incident investigation, technical safety, process safety engineering, and risk management. Develop and implement internal process safety standards and related training programs. Advise HSE compliance on regulatory standards (e.g., FERC, PHMSA, OSHA) relating to siting, process safety, engineering, and other areas; engage with regulators when required. Lead and participate in audit and functional verification of process safety and other HSE standards. Review process safety incident and near-miss data to identify trends and inform continuous improvement programs. Facilitate and/or participate in incident investigations, identifying root and contributing causes and corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Maintain process safety and safety engineering standards, procedures, and other key management systems within the Cheniere Integrated Management System (CIMS). Knowledge of multiple process safety elements, such as facility siting analysis, process hazard analysis methodologies, fire and gas detection, incident investigation, and process safety program management aligned with industry standards. Understanding of complex, fixed facility process safety program development and execution. Experience in gas processing, refining, petrochemical, LNG, or other cryogenic hydrocarbon processing. Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations pertaining to process safety. Skills

Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills; ability to convey complex information to various levels of the organization. Strong written communication skills for simplifying regulatory/technical requirements for end users. Strong listening skills; ability to interpret needs and deliver value. Ability to build credibility and maintain professional relationships through delivering quality results. Experience developing and implementing new or revised programs, systems, or processes. Ability to conduct assurance activities for process safety management with practical findings and recommendations. Demonstrated leadership and strong facilitation skills for collaborative dialogue and aligned path forward. Problem solving, analytical skills, and regulatory interpretation with practical risk-based application. Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) in good standing. Education And Experience

Education, Training and Certifications : Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or another engineering discipline. CCPS Certified Process Safety Professional (CCPSC) or master’s degree is valuable. Maintain valid certifications as applicable to support job functions. Experience : Ten (10+) years of process safety-related work in LNG, refining, hydrocarbon processing, or petrochemical infrastructure facilities. Direct Reports

Periodic travel as required by business needs. Office environment with standard duties; may involve time pressure and coordination with others. Occasional exposure to stressful situations.
