Dewberry is currently seeking a full-time
Landscape Architect, Urban Designer, or Architect
to join our Land Planning & Landscape Architecture Department. The role involves working on various projects for clients in the commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use private development sectors. This position is based in our Baltimore office, with some travel to other Dewberry locations. The ideal candidate will be a curious, highly motivated, detail-oriented professional with proven design and construction expertise. They should be flexible, technically savvy, client-focused, and able to work in a team environment within a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities include executing projects from Concept to Construction Administration on time and within budget. Responsibilities
Deliver projects on time and within budget, meeting technical requirements. Prepare construction drawings, details, specifications, and coordinate with engineers and vendors. Manage project submittals, regulatory approvals, and permits. Assist with marketing, proposals, project management, and mentor junior staff. Communicate effectively with clients and team members. Conduct site inspections and prepare reports. Represent the company at public meetings and events. Work efficiently to meet project budgets. Prepare graphics, exhibits, and landscape plans. Write technical reports and memorandums. Review work of junior staff and provide guidance. Handle non-routine assignments using advanced concepts and practices. Attend meetings, address project inquiries, and update clients on progress. Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture (LAAB accredited). 5+ years of experience in land development projects. Experience from conceptual design to construction documents; construction administration a plus. Urban design experience including downtown revitalization, public spaces, streetscapes, and related areas. Proficiency in site planning, grading, stormwater management, and plant identification. CAD skills, graphic design skills (InDesign, Adobe, Bluebeam), and 3D rendering (Photoshop, Rhino). Ability to prepare reports and narratives for regulatory approvals. Strong conceptual and strategic skills. Curiosity, initiative, and commitment to excellence. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and focus on tasks. Creative problem-solving skills. Preferred
Licensed Landscape Architect or Architect. Portfolio of public landscape or public realm work. Applicants must include a portfolio with their application.
