Hoyle Tanner has a new position open for an initiative-taking Sr. Hydraulic Engineer with experience in open channel flow (rivers/streams). You will lead and support hydraulic analysis and scour evaluation for bridge and culvert projects. A short 27 miles from Boston, our office is centrally located near the confluence of US Route 3, Route 495, and the Lowell Connector, with access to MBTA bus and commuter rail options. Primary Responsibilities
Lead and conduct hydraulic studies for bridge and culvert projects, including river, stream, and floodplain crossings Perform detailed scour analyses for new and existing bridge structures and recommend appropriate scour protection measures Utilize hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SRH-2D) and GIS-based project mapping tools for project analysis and design Prepare technical reports, calculations, maps, and documentation for regulatory submittals and project records Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, including structural engineers, environmental scientists, and construction staff Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and review their work for accuracy and compliance Qualifications
BS or MS degree in civil or environmental engineering, or related field PE Licensure 10+ years of relevant experience Exceptional oral and written communication skills Salary is contingent on experience Hoyle Tanner is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
