AECOM has a position available for a

Solar Engineer

within the Renewables and Microgrid Team of the Energy Practice Engineering Center of Excellence. The role offers freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at multiple Energy offices across the United States. Our team provides electrical engineering services across markets including transmission, renewable generation (Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Wind), power distribution, and next generation energy. We are looking for an experienced engineering professional with a solar PV design and power engineering background to promote our skills to new clients and maintain existing client relationships. Qualified candidates will have a strong solar engineering background and experience leading projects. The successful candidate is expected to be detail oriented and capable of independent decision-making under senior guidance. The focus is on solar engineering and design related to interconnection and distribution systems. Experience with battery energy storage and/or wind power is a plus. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong technical background to grow into a project leadership role. Responsibilities

Responsible for the solar PV electrical engineering design work on assigned projects Collaborate with Project Engineers and Project Managers to develop design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering work activities Support company business development activities related to renewable energy projects Monitor project progress to ensure quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery Design Solar PV systems including array layouts, DC string sizing, equipment layouts, and utility interconnections for rooftop, carport, and ground-mount systems Model energy production for Solar PV systems Develop solar construction and equipment specifications Perform engineering calculations (NEC voltage, conductor sizing, protection sizing, interconnection requirements, voltage drop, conduit sizing) Support drawing production – Solar PV system single-line and three-line diagrams, Cable and Conduit Schedules Prepare Bills of Materials Estimate PV system costs and perform payback evaluations Design DC and low to medium voltage power distribution Support projects through full lifecycle: feasibility, preliminary and detailed design, bid phase, construction, start-up, and commissioning Participate in and present engineering work at client meetings Occasional travel to client or project site Level Specific Responsibilities

Serves as Engineer of Record on all size solar PV projects Provide specialized technical input to studies and design and present complex technical solutions to clients Perform quality control reviews of work prepared by others Participate in development of technical proposals Provide estimates for engineering budget and schedule Review, check, and approve work prepared by team Ensure technical and safety standards are maintained in all design work Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS in Electrical Engineering + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency Experience must include electrical design of commercial and utility-scale solar PV and BESS systems Preferred Qualifications

Eight (8) years of engineering experience preferred PE license preferred Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Microsoft Excel Experience with NREL SAM, ForgeSolar, Helioscope MV AC Collection System Design Experience Proficient with NEC and related codes (IBC, NFPA 855) Strong familiarity with utility practices and industry codes (NESC, IEEE, PIP) Ability to lead engineering tasks with strong written and verbal communication Experience on full EPC/Design-Build projects Additional Information
