We are seeking an experienced Engineering Group Manager to lead the Software Controls engineering team within the Propulsion Thermal Management ART at GM. This role involves developing, testing, and releasing control systems and architectures for GM's thermal systems across BEV, PHEV, and ICE vehicles. The manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Hardware, Cabin Controls, HVAC Software, and others to deliver world-class thermal controls. Responsibilities include:
Managing engineers to develop control system architecture using MATLAB/Simulink and C Driving testing and validation of thermal control systems Leading technical decisions and fostering technical excellence in controls architecture Supporting development of automated testing and HIL testing efforts Performing risk assessments and supporting agile practices Managing team performance, recruitment, and budgets Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science with 6+ years of experience 7+ years of relevant industry experience Strong knowledge of automotive thermal management systems Proficiency in C, C++, MATLAB/SIMULINK, or Python Leadership experience in engineering teams Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Preferred Skills:
PhD in Engineering or Computer Science 10+ years of experience, including leadership roles Experience with thermal management software like GT-Power Knowledge of Agile and SAFe methodologies Additional Information:
