In this team, you will develop electric marine propulsion and power distribution systems in autonomous, electric, and hybrid vessels. You will work with battery and autonomy teams to power vessels with all-electric and hybrid power trains. This role involves developing critical components for safety-critical applications in harsh environments. You should be comfortable taking independent initiative and collaborating with other motivated engineers. Responsibilities
Design and develop electrical systems for marine power applications, from concept to implementation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems into ship designs, ensuring reliability and compliance. Solve complex technical challenges in power distribution, energy storage, and control systems for maritime environments. Conduct fieldwork, testing, and occasional travel to support project execution and system validation. Qualifications
At least 4 years in electrical engineering related to ship power systems. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related field. Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred; candidates eligible to pursue PE licensure within their first year are encouraged to apply. Proficient in CAD tools like SolidWorks (preferred), AutoCAD, or Rhino3D. Strong communication skills, with proficiency in technical writing and effective stakeholder communication. Willingness to travel and perform fieldwork; may require a valid driver’s license, passport, and TWIC card. Knowledge of USCG and IACS Class Society rules (e.g., ABS, DNV, GL). Bonus Qualifications
Experience with marine ESS systems. Experience at sea, in shipyards, or on manufacturing floors involving marine equipment.
