York Space Systems is looking to expand its team. York Space Systems is looking for talented RF Engineers with 2-6 years of experience. Title and compensation are commensurate with years of experience. As an RF engineer at York, you will experience the full RF system life cycle from proposal to on-orbit commissioning, with a mix of hands-on hardware activities and desk analyses, directly contributing to on-orbit RF links. Responsibilities
Shape how the organization implements RF space-to-ground links Act as an organization-wide resource for low-level RF physics and communications theory expertise Ensure that core RF system products meet requirements and the mission Perform analysis to define vendor requirements for RF hardware Support manufacturing-at-scale objectives by defining and enabling robust, cost-effective RF systems Verify and support radio waveform compatibility Support on-orbit RF link anomaly resolution and commissioning activities Support vendor milestone reviews and non-conformance disposition Support customer PDR, CDR, and other milestone presentations Improve fidelity of RF link analysis tools and implement new ones Perform antenna co-interference simulations using 3D EM software tools Support AIT through non-conformance disposition, as-run review, and master test procedure/plan reviews May require some travel to support testing and launch Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or wireless communications related disciplines 2+ years of experience for RF Engineer II 6+ years of experience for RF Engineer Senior II Ability to perform point-to-point space-to-ground link budget Basic understanding of analog (antenna, amplifiers, filters) and digital (SDR, modulation, coding) domains Familiarity with common RF test equipment (VNA, Spectrum Analyzer) Ability to script using Python and work with version control systems (Git) Desire to work in a fast-paced team environment Must have, or be willing to obtain, a DoD Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications
Active DoD TS/SCI Clearance Industry experience in RF systems design and analysis for spacecraft Familiarity with satellite modulation and coding standards (CCSDS, DVB-S2, etc.) Experience using HFSS for antenna co-site interference problems Benefits
