How You'll Make an Impact The Program Director is responsible for the overall administration, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Medical Laboratory Science Program. This role ensures academic, and accreditation standards are met across didactic, laboratory, and clinical components. Responsibilities include faculty supervision, curriculum development, budget management, student recruitment, industry engagement, and regulatory compliance.

What You’ll Need to Apply Education:

Required: Master’s degree in medical laboratory science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Preferred: Doctoral degree.

Experience:

Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a certified medical laboratory technologist, with at least two (2) years in clinical laboratory practice and two (2) years teaching in an accredited medical laboratory program (as appointed faculty or clinical preceptor).

License:

Licensed by the Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in accordance with Florida Statutes (FS), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 483 (Health Testing Services), Part I (Clinical Laboratory Personnel) with added specialties in clinical chemistry, and/or hematology, and/or microbiology, and/or serology.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Doctor’s degree (or equivalent) in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution with two (2) years teaching in an accredited medical laboratory program (as appointed faculty or clinical preceptor).
