What You Will Do : Our Geotechnical, Dams & Hydraulics team is seeking a Principal Engineer to join our team in one of the following locations: Jacksonville, FL Mechanicsburg, PA Owings Mills, MD Houston, TX Fort Worth, TX Denver, CO Salt Lake City, UT Phoenix, AZ Roseville, CA Oakland, CA Responsibilities : As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for technical and business aspects of the firm, providing expert technical input on large, complex water resources projects. Key responsibilities include: Independently designing and leading major projects Managing and leading multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors Planning and determining project scope, resources, schedule, and budget Applying extensive knowledge of principles and practices to evaluate and select techniques and procedures Performing dam and levee safety inspections and assessments Providing construction support services and reviewing project documents for quality assurance Conducting business development, building client relationships, and managing client expectations Mentoring technical staff and developing new techniques and processes Requirements : Bachelor of Science degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university 15+ years of experience in geotechnical or civil engineering Professional Engineering license in one of the listed states or ability to obtain via comity Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Office, and similar computer programs Expert-level knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices applicable to slope stability, seepage analysis, and dam design Preferred Qualifications : Master of Science degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering Previous approval as a FERC Independent Consultant and/or Subject Matter Expert Knowledge of deep foundation design and/or landslide stabilization Proficiency in specialized software Compensation and Benefits : Salary range $140,000 - $190,000, dependent on experience and location.
