Bridge Engineer

in our

Chicago O’Hare office . The ideal candidate will work as part of a talented, experienced team to perform inspection and design for bridges and other roadway structures. This position offers numerous project challenges and an opportunity to become part of a well-established technical group. Responsibilities

Work closely with professional engineers to perform structural design with a concentration on Illinois DOT Bridge structures. Assist in bridge inspections and serve as a team member on a variety of bridge inspection projects. Prepare written bridge inspection reports to document observed findings, recommendations, and corrective actions required. Coordinate with project managers and engineers to ensure that all inspections are conducted in a timely, safe, and efficient manner. Be part of a team that offers mentoring, training and development of junior staff. Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field. Master’s degree is a plus. 1–2 years of practical experience in the structural inspection and design of bridges using IDOT standards. Candidates with greater experience are encouraged to apply as well. CDOT and Tollway experience is a plus. Holder of a valid driver’s license. Existing status as an IDOT NBIS Bridge Inspection Team Leader or Program Manager would be considered a plus. Benefits
