The Director of Nursing will lead the oversight of the delivery of care and overall quality of services provided by our agency, and to participate in the training and supervision of direct care staff. The Director of Nursing is responsible for providing direct care to patients and conducting supervisory visits as needed.
The Director of Nursing works closely with other members of the agency leadership team to execute BrightStar Care’s promise of a higher standard of premium person-centered care from companion level services to skilled care.
Responsibilities:
Coordination of care for the client, identification of all clients’ needs through the assessment process, and implementation of the plan of care and supervisory process. Provide hands on patient care - conducting initial assessments, reassessments, performing infusions etc. Effectively communicates with families, community partners and other health care providers to ensure adequacy of services provided and supervision of staff. Reviews clinical and progress notes and summaries of care. Compliance/Promotion of the standards of quality set forth by BrightStar Care and the Joint Commission. Compiling and maintaining data/files for Joint Commission surveys. Oversees the maintenance of client clinical records, statistics, reports, and records for purposes of evaluation and reporting of organization activities. Responsible for evaluation and approval of monthly audits of client files. Assists in the development of organization goals. Ongoing assessment, skill, and competency review of the care staff to ensure quality care and high level of performance. Supervises, educates, and coaches other nursing personnel/care-giving staff. Plans and implements in-service and training programs. Responsible for ensuring nurse/clinical oversight by delivering clinical orientation to all new hires. Stays informed about changes in the field of nursing and home health care. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred; Associate’s degree in nursing or equivalent industry experience required. Requirements:
Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in state for which care is being provided. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Minimum of six (6) years of clinical experience required. Minimum of two (2) years leading a team of clinicians to include RNs and LPNs experience required. Strong understanding of federal and state home health regulations and Nurse Practice Act. Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to effectively function with a high degree of autonomy in a high-volume, complex, decentralized environment. Experience working in high growth, rapidly evolving organizations where talent is a top priority. Understands and uses qualitative/quantitative measurement and data collection design principles. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
