Overview
Pay Range: $50.83hr - $55.83hr
Responsibilities
Technical/scientific skills. Expertise in the following is a must-have:
Aseptic cell culture techniques with mammalian cells.
Transient transfections and maintain cell lines
Development of cell-based functional assays
Perform molecular and biochemical assessments, including protein and RNA detection and Sanger sequencing, from ex vivo samples collected from bulk tissues or cells
Gene expression studies by qPCR, protein analysis by western blot and ELISA
Knowledge of basic pharmacology (e.g., concentration/response curves, determination of binding affinity, potency, Hill’s slope and in vitro efficacy).
Data analysis skills including PRISM
Minimum Qualifications
B.S. and/or M.S. in biology or a closely related field with 3+ years of laboratory experience.
Additional Skills/Preferences
A background in the biology and physiology of energy balance regulation and metabolic disease is a plus.
Familiar with Sanger sequencing analysis (ICE).
Experience with immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization (RNAscope), various assay detection technologies (fluorescence, luminescence, assays) and ability to implement and validate new assay technologies or technologies.
Experience with imaging techniques (confocal microscopy).
Brain tissue sectioning and histology techniques.
Demonstrated ability to work on cross-functional teams and projects.
Strong communication skills and experience presenting data in a team environment.
