Overview

Nephrology Nurse Practitioner 2-PCS Advanced Practice Providers at UC Davis Clinical and Translational Science Center. This role provides independent advanced level nurse practitioner clinical expertise to patients and families, including management of chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute/critical care, and medical/specialty protocols (e.g., chemotherapy) as defined by standardized procedures or licensure. NPs act as expert resources for healthcare providers and participate in a team-based care environment. Responsibilities

Provide patient care in a team-based environment for a diversified patient population. Apply knowledge and judgment to determine situation importance, set priorities, and evaluate clinical scenarios; participate in patient and staff education; demonstrate leadership and accountability for own practices. Care may include inpatient and/or outpatient settings, with activities ranging from evaluation and management to education and documentation. Inpatient pediatric nephrology care under supervision of the Pediatric Nephrology Attending, including consultation with other providers, admissions/discharges planning, and daily progress notes and procedure documentation. Participation in the design and implementation of research and/or quality improvement studies within the Pediatric Nephrology Department. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate within 3 months of hire American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or UC Davis Health CPR National NP board certification in aligned specialty with the practice area Certified Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-AC) American Heart Association (AHA) PALS Certification Master’s degree, DNP or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing One year or greater experience as an acute care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Strong verbal and written communication, sound judgment, self-direction and organizational skills Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing as a billable provider Preferred Qualifications

One year or greater recent clinical experience as a pediatric nephrology nurse practitioner Key Responsibilities
