Job Summary
The job of the "Chemist" is an individual contributor who performs testing of samples of various types using various techniques or equipment in the QC laboratory. Multiple Opportunities. Chemist II = 3 Years of Experience; Chemist III = 5 Years of Experience. Location: Hauppauge, New York Job type: Permanent Salary: $65,000 - $100,000 per year Work hours: 9 to 5 Education: Bachelor’s Responsibilities
Conduct routine testing or other analysis in a specific group or department setting. Conduct advanced testing and/or critical testing, as required. Operate specialized equipment or conduct specialized skill testing. Working knowledge of raw materials testing and release. Working knowledge of instruments such as Karl Fischer, HPLC, GC, Particle size, ICP. Lead investigation activities. Ensure compliance with data integrity and cGMP practices, procedures, and expectations. Ensure compliance with good documentation practices. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head of the Department or Section Head. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) in physical sciences required Master’s degree preferred Chemist III – minimum of 5 years’ experience Proficient in English (spoken and written) Ability to read and understand scientific work in English Excellent organizational, learning, and teamwork skills Ability to understand and analyze complex data sets Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other scientific software Experience in inhalation products (MDI) is a plus Skills
