Director Nursing (RN) | Maternity | South Overview

Join Community Health Network as Director of Nursing, overseeing labor and delivery, post-partum, a Level II NICU, lactation, and two OB-OR suites. This role leads strategic planning, business development, clinical outcomes, quality management, and excellence in customer service. The Director provides leadership and directives for the development, implementation, and assessment of programming, policy, and procedures. This position reports to the VP of Nursing/CNE of the hospital.

Responsibilities

Oversee labor and delivery, post-partum, Level II NICU, lactation services, and two OB-OR suites.

Lead strategic planning, business development, clinical outcomes, quality management, and customer service initiatives.

Provide leadership and directives for development, implementation, and assessment of programming, policy, and procedures.

Collaborate with executive leadership to drive hospital-wide nursing strategy and operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an NLN, CCNE, or ACEN-accredited nursing program is required.

Master’s degree within five (5) years from the date of hire is required.

Three (3) or more years of progressive management/leadership experience is required.

Five (5) or more years of nursing experience is required.

Experience in maternity services is required.

Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Indiana, as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) is required.

Certification in a relevant specialty or nursing administration within three (3) years of hire is required.

Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills.

Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal, written, and via dashboards/ presentations).

Ability to independently resolve problems, plan strategically, and think creatively and critically.

Knowledge of best practices, laws, regulations, tools, and software related to the position.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to build, motivate, and lead a high-performing team.
