About ECU Health Medical Center: ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Position Summary Responsible for leadership and accountability for facilitating the implementation of systems, programs and strategic initiatives that advance occupational health capability, and for developing and aligning strategies, budgets, and infrastructure to achieve department and organizational quality imperatives.
Responsibilities
Provides leadership and vision for ECU Health Occupational Health Services through department / strategic planning and evaluation of program.
Exhibits leadership abilities in occupational health services and the organization as a whole. Responsible for departmental planning and evaluation of programs using system and national benchmarks.
Meets with external customer leaders on a quarterly basis and staff at those facilities to discuss clinic usage, ROI, and future opportunities.
Encourages teamwork and consistency among the regional Occupational Health nurses by meeting with them monthly to monitor performance against goals and solicit input to improve operations.
Works closely with Safety/Infection Control, Quality Management, Risk Management, Workers Compensation and Legal Affairs to write policies and implement regulations in a timely manner.
Develops departmental policies & procedures and aligns them with other ECU Health policies.
Plans and manages cost-effective use of staff and resources to meet organizational needs and services.
Evaluates and continuously improves service delivery through data collection, planning and implementation to meet organizational needs.
Minimum Requirements
Associate or Undergraduate degree in appropriate field is required. Graduate degree preferred or higher.
Prior management or leadership experience, including involvement in the budgetary process, personnel management and long and short-term planning.
4 - 5 years experience in Employee Health or Occupational Health with 4 or more years leadership and management experience in a health care/complex setting including involvement of budgetary process, personnel management and long and short-term planning.
Administrative experience.
Previous Experience In Occupational Health Required. One year additional experience may be substituted for one year of required education with a maximum substitution of 2 years.
