to support our client’s medical facility based in

Mon – Fri. 6am - 2:30pm Duration:
3 Months + *The salary is determined by an individual's level of experience, as well as any relevant licenses and certifications they may hold. Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities are interchangeable within job titles of medical laboratory scientist (MLS), medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist. Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures. Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls. Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary. Assist with processing of specimens when needed. Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements. Minimum 0-2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required. State Medical Technologist license may be required (will be listed in requirement if it’s needed). ASCP or AMT certification is either preferred or required (will be listed in requirement if it’s required). Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus. High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills. Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen. Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs. Education
Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or clinical laboratory science OR - BS in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science from an accredited college or university WITH at least 1 year of training or experience in specialty in which testing will be performed. Such training must be equivalent to that received in a school of Medical Technology. OR - 90 Semester hours from an accredited institution that include the following: 16 semester hours of Biology courses, 16 Semester hours of chemistry (must include at least 6 hours of inorganic Chemistry), and 3 Semester hours of Math, along with having completed an accredited Clinical Laboratory training program or 1 year of documented Clinical Laboratory Training, or experience in the specialty that testing is to be performed. OR - Associates Degree in Medical Technology. Experience
This position will be working in a hematology lab. They are looking for someone comfortable with hematology. They will perform tests in a cancer clinic, urine dipsticks and hema glucose tests. Consistent work pace, patients about every 15 minutes. Good communication and people skills, as this position is patient/provider facing. Comfortable with hematology and slide review.
