Senior Credit Specialist (NYC or Greenwich, CT) Compensation
Base pay range: $120,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr Additional compensation types: Annual Bonus Responsibilities
Senior Credit Specialist specializes in Commercial lending and is responsible for the underwriting of loan requests that are assigned to them after the initial sales contact has been made by a Banker. Accountable for protecting the Bank by providing an unbiased and objective view of the prospective borrower and thoroughly disclosing all identified risk. Responsible for the oversight and ongoing management of a loan portfolio monitoring client’s compliance, collection of required annual financials, clearing financial and collateral exceptions, loan renewals, modifications, annual reviews, site visits and other functions necessary to effectively manage the portfolio. Pricing and structuring loan requests, preparing Term Sheets, collecting the appropriate financials and other information necessary for underwriting in accordance with the Bank’s Loan policy. Proficient in the analysis of spreads and cash flows prepared by the Credit Analyst and able to utilize this information to complete detailed underwriting utilizing the Credit Approval Request and Credit Approval Memo. Commercial Underwriter will work closely with Commercial Loan Administration to ensure an efficient closing for all assigned loan requests. Experience and Skills
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in economics, finance, business or accounting. 5-10+ years of prior commercial lending, underwriting, portfolio management experience within the banking or financial services industry is required. Strong interpersonal relationship skills with a service orientation for both internal and external customers. Strong underwriting skills with the capacity to analyze financial spreads and cashflows. Proficient portfolio management skills with the ability to execute comprehensive management of multiple loan relationships. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong intellect, intellectual curiosity and motivation. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the use of the Bank’s loan origination system. Ability to work independently and under critical time constraints. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Seniority level
