The Territory Manager is responsible for driving rental sales of light to medium-duty trucks from PTR’s fleet by achieving opportunity-based sales goals. This role requires an advanced and ambitious salesperson dedicated to expanding an existing book of business. Success in this position demands strong communication skills, extensive product knowledge, and the ability to cultivate and build long-term relationships with clients. The Territory Manager will travel extensively throughout the assigned territory, with a minimum travel requirement. This position includes a company vehicle, laptop, cell phone, and credit card to support the execution of duties effectively. Responsibilities
Develop and implement sales strategies to pursue targets for the territory and achieve revenue goals. Client Relationship Management: acquire new accounts, expand existing ones, and build a network of referrals to grow the territory. Product Knowledge: maintain deep knowledge of PTR’s product lines, including features, benefits, add-ons, and customization options. Market Analysis: conduct market research to identify opportunities, trends, and competitive landscape. Sales Performance Monitoring: track targets, analyze metrics, and adjust strategies to meet or exceed goals. Product Demonstrations: perform on-site demonstrations to showcase PTR’s offerings. Documentation and Reporting: use CRM (Salesforce) to document activities, manage data, and prepare reports for management. Customer Support: provide ongoing support and consultation to clients, serving as a resource for questions about products and opportunities. Team Collaboration: work with marketing, operations, finance, continuous improvement, and internal sales to ensure cohesive operations. Travel Requirements: travel at least 50% within the territory, including overnight stays and some weekend work. Professional Representation: represent PTR at tradeshows, onsite meetings, and customer events. Communication and Presentations: use Microsoft Office to develop presentations and respond promptly to communications. Training and Development: participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry trends and sales techniques. Compliance and Ethics: ensure all sales activities comply with policies, laws, and ethical standards. Build and manage a 3-4 state territory. Requirements
Must Have
5+ years of territory/region sales experience (e.g., territory manager, regional/account manager, outside sales). Multi-state experience preferred. Ability to convert prospects into closed sales using advanced sales strategies. Strong sales reporting, technical aptitude, and analytical skills. Collaborative with the ability to work with personnel across the business unit. Proactive, solution-focused mindset with initiative. Compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. High-energy, fast-paced professional with ethical standards. Strong PC skills; tech-savvy and early adopter of technology. Excellent organization, presentation, communication, and follow-through skills. Minimum 50% travel requirement. Nice to Have
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Experience in medium-duty truck rental, oil, gas, and utility sales. Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce) and lead tools (LinkedIn Sales Navigator). Existing relationships in the territory; familiarity with Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Dynamics. Base Salary: $50,000/year plus uncapped commissions/On Target Earnings: $200,000. Company Truck, Cell Phone, Laptop, iPad, Company Card; Benefits from day one; 3% 401(k); more benefits available. Location & Hours
