Job Summary
This position is responsible to ensure successful, cost-effective, and timely aluminum fabrication processes, tooling, gauge, and equipment management throughout the company's operations. This includes the development, implementation, quoting, sourcing, design, build, tryout, and transition to production for all tooling, fabrication, buffing, and will assist with troubleshooting and cost reduction projects. Responsibilities
Plan, organize, direct, and execute – via direct report group(s) – projects and initiatives that position the plant to meet and exceed efficiency objectives Perform routine process analyses to assess overall process performance Evaluate potential capital projects for viability, performs cost analysis on capital projects Secure cost estimates for potential capital projects, equipment, and tooling Act as a liaison between Manufacturing Engineering and Product Design Teams to facilitate Design for Manufacturability Perform all other functions related to role as required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment 5-10 years’ experience in engineering in the automotive environment Experience with implementing internal quality systems and scheduling audits Technical knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes such as: metal fabrication, aluminum extrusion, metal roll-forming or similar Knowledgeable of CAD systems/software for product and tool designs Knowledge of fixture design, sensors, PLC and programming, poke yoke and error proofing Experience with APQP, GD&T, automotive quality and appearance standards, and finishing requirements Knowledgeable of raw materials, manufacturing methods and alternatives for improved performance and/or cost Analytical and quantitative approach to problem solving Proficiency with MS Office Strong verbal and written communication skills Seniority level
