Overview
STV currently has an opening for a Civil Project Engineer in the Transportation group in Hartford, CT. STV is seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer to join our Connecticut team, specializing in transportation infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in Bentley's OpenRoads software. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of roadway, highway, and transit projects, contributing to design solutions that meet quality standards, budget constraints, and project schedules. Responsibilities
Utilize Bentley’s OpenRoads software to develop and refine 3D models, alignments, profiles, corridors, cross-sections, grading and pipe networks for transportation projects. Mentor and train junior engineers in the effective use of OpenRoads, offering guidance and support to build their technical skills. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate design elements into comprehensive project plans. Prepare detailed drawings, plans, and technical specifications for roadway, highway, and transit infrastructure projects. Conduct design reviews, constructability assessments, and quality control checks to ensure designs meet project objectives and regulatory standards. Contribute to project reports, presentations, and client communications for effective project delivery. Stay current with industry trends, software advancements, and best practices related to OpenRoads, applying new knowledge to enhance project outcomes. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field. Proficiency in Bentley’s OpenRoads software. Minimum of 4 years of experience in transportation engineering with a focus on roadway design, alignment optimization, and geometric design. Familiarity with design standards and guidelines (AASHTO, FHWA, CTDOT). Experience with drainage design, stormwater permits, and environmental compliance. Strong technical skills in MicroStation, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and the Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. A PE license is strongly preferred. Compensation Range: $89,487.93 - $119,317.24 STV offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health/dental/vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, disability and life insurance, 401(k) plan with retirement counseling, employee assistance program, paid time off, paid holidays, parental leave, continuing education, and professional licensure and society memberships. STV is committed to paying all employees fairly and transparently.
