Overview

As a Field Service Engineer based in the Philadelphia, PA, or Baltimore, MD area, you’ll be the front-line ambassador of Malvern Panalytical. This role focuses on restoring customer confidence, minimizing downtime, and ensuring long-term satisfaction with our scientific instrumentation. You’ll travel extensively to customer sites across the U.S., providing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and training. If you enjoy solving problems, working independently, and making a real impact in scientific and industrial environments, this role is for you. Responsibilities

Provide installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and training on electro-mechanical instrumentation at customer sites. Travel extensively to customer sites across the U.S. (up to 80% travel). Communicate with empathy and precision to turn service calls into positive customer experiences. De-escalate tense situations and build trust with customers. Provide end-user training and support as needed. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a STEM-related field (or equivalent technical experience) 5+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electro-mechanical systems Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule Strong electro-mechanical skills and a customer-first mindset Comfort providing training and support to end users Familiarity with CRM systems and service documentation tools Excellent time and travel management skills Additional Requirements

Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving history Must hold a valid passport for domestic and international travel Must be able to obtain and maintain any required certifications or licenses Must possess a personal credit card for business-related expenses (reimbursed per company policy) Environment and Hours
