Overview
Experienced Electrical Engineer - Aviation & Federal (Chicago). The role involves working on project teams to create world class designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments across process, corporate, airports, industrial, manufacturing, government and military facilities. The engineer collaborates with the project team throughout design and construction, adapting electrical plans based on budget, design factors or client needs. Responsibilities
Perform electrical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion. Modify and review production drawings for projects including process facilities, industrial facilities, airports, commercial, and governmental/military facilities. Design electrical components to meet project needs and requirements defined by project managers. Apply knowledge of standard engineering concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within electrical engineering services. Research and compile project-related data as required by project managers. Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections across CAD software. Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration for design of various facilities (process, industrial, healthcare, airports, educational, commercial, governmental and military). Perform field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients. Comply with all policies and standards. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program with 3 years of electrical engineering experience; consulting experience preferred. OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program with successful FE exam and 3 years of electrical engineering experience; consulting experience preferred. OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 2 years of electrical engineering experience; consulting experience preferred. 5 years of electrical engineering and consulting experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment with strong critical thinking skills. Proficiency in electrical engineering calculations and production platforms (e.g., Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, ETAP, and lighting design/calculation software such as Visual, Dialux, AGi32 or ElumTools). Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) and attention to detail, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities. Engineers in Training (EIT) certification preferred. Compensation
$115,000.00 - $230,000.00 Yearly. The compensation range complies with local/state regulations and may vary based on education, qualifications, experience, and location. Total compensation includes base salary and eligibility for discretionary year-end incentive bonus. Benefits
