Sustaining Manufacturing Engineer
to join our team. The candidate will be an essential part of a dynamic and expanding engineering team, with opportunities to innovate, learn, and grow rapidly. Pay range: $75,000 - $105,000 (based on skills, knowledge, and experience). Location: Carson, CA (onsite). Job Description:
The Sustaining Manufacturing Engineer supports mature products through vendor transitions and sustaining efforts. Key responsibilities include reviewing engineering drawings for technical accuracy, detailed tolerancing, and proper GD&T application, ensuring readiness for release to Supply Chain and external vendors. The role focuses on supporting smooth and efficient transitions of existing products by delivering accurate documentation, validating vendor readiness, and confirming manufacturability. This position collaborates closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, and external vendors to maintain alignment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure production continuity. Additionally, the engineer manages BOM updates, participates in ECOs, and seeks process improvement opportunities. Occasional travel to vendor sites for reviews, tooling assessments, and production alignment is expected. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (required) 2–5 years of experience in sustaining or manufacturing engineering Strong knowledge of engineering drawings and GD&T principles Proficient in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) Experience with ERP systems (Oracle), BOM management, and ECOs Supportive experience with product transitions between vendors or manufacturing sites Ability to review and finalize detailed engineering drawings for manufacturability and compliance Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Effective communication with cross-functional teams and external vendors Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to vendor sites Company Description: DMF Lighting designs and builds industry-leading LED downlighting that sets the standard for flexibility, performance, and quality.
