Overview
A transmission line engineer position for a large electric utility client focused on leading all transmission line structural engineering tasks related to lattice towers (structure and foundation) in complex transmission line projects. Location: Pomona, CA 91768 (Hybrid). Position: Transmission Line Engineer. Pay Rate: $111/hr on W2. Duration: 18 months or longer. Schedule: 1st shift, M-F, Hybrid – 2 days onsite (Wednesdays and Thursdays), 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Responsibilities
Lead all transmission line structural engineering tasks related to lattice towers (structure and foundation) in complex transmission line projects. Act as a subject matter expert in PLS Tower analysis and/or modeling of existing and new lattice tower structures following ASCE and SCE standards and specifications. Act as a subject matter expert in design or review of new or existing transmission line foundations (drilled concrete shaft, direct embed, micro pile and grillage) using FAD Tools, hand calculations or similar programs. Perform transmission line structural load calculations based on NESC, California General Order 95, or other applicable codes and resources. Lead construction administration efforts including coordination with field personnel to resolve design-related construction issues, support emergency restorations (wildfire, storm and other incidents) and field inspections. Prepare engineering mitigation reports for damaged transmission line lattice towers and damaged footings. Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to the company’s transmission engineering practice, mentor and guide less experienced engineers. Build effective relationships with other responsible entities in the organization. Ensure QA/QC process adherence and compliance with company and site safety policies. Qualifications
California Civil PE License required (Structural preferred) Bachelor's (or Master's) degree in Civil (Structural) Engineering Minimum of 7 years' experience in the transmission line engineering field PLS TOWER (PLS CADD), FAD TOOLS Desirable qualifications
