Fire protection design experience is a plus. The engineer will participate from concept through construction documentation and administration, guiding junior engineers and designers and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities

Design utilities systems that supply fluids and gases to building and process users via pressure piping systems (steam generation and distribution, hot water heating and distribution, compressed air, chilled water, chilled glycol, cooling tower water, cold water distribution, water pressure boosting, pumping, natural gas, and nitrogen). Size utilities equipment and piping distributions using owner/process data, restroom fixture demands, metering data, HVAC and refrigeration needs, and engineering judgment for diversity and safety factors. Produce utilities pipe material and insulation schedules and coordinate with vendors to select equipment and prepare equipment schedules for drawings. Include controls sequence of operations write-ups or controls expectations on utilities equipment schedules. Design HVAC systems (rooftop equipment, split systems, 100% outside air, exhaust, heat pumps) using DX refrigerants, chilled water/glycol, natural gas, and steam as applicable. Size HVAC equipment by loads, and size associated ductwork using velocity and pressure drop calculations; prepare ductwork schedules with vendors. Include HVAC controls sequencing of operations, pressurization, and hygienic zoning.
