AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure continual access to our customers. As part of the global controls team, you will work with experts and innovators in the data center industry. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, project management, and maintaining the building management system (BMS) and electrical power monitoring system (EPMS). Using Amazon leadership principles, you will develop new processes and standards while innovating in the controls space. AWS data centers include components such as generators, UPS, diesel generators, electrical switchgear, power distribution units, variable frequency drives, ATS, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, CRAHs, air economizers, and more. All components have local control systems that interact via open and proprietary protocols. The BMS is the primary method of control for mechanical systems; the EPMS is the primary method of monitoring electrical systems. Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and performRoot Cause Analysis or Corrective Action for BMS and EPMS issues in AWS data centers. Train and assist internal customers and stakeholders with the design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation of BMS and EPMS systems. Provide technical assistance and support to operations during the life cycle of the data center. Review results and action items from quarterly maintenance for BMS and EPMS and address them as needed. Develop BMS & EPMS project scope of work, schedule, budget, and level of effort to meet customer and stakeholder requirements. Manage scope, schedule, finances, and execution of BMS and EPMS improvement projects. Assist in procurement activities including RFQ/RFP processes, vendor assessments, and PO issuance. Participate in AWS global on-call schedule to provide immediate BMS and EPMS technical support to in-service data centers. Attend project meetings, coordinate with project leaders, and report status to Controls and stakeholders. Support commissioning activities for Controls projects in data centers. Review, implement, troubleshoot, and iterate on SOOs and provide feedback to the design team. Develop and modify controls logic programming and graphical user interfaces. Manage multiple stakeholder deliverables and navigate challenging situations. Financially manage BMS and EPMS service contracts. Occasionally visit in-operation data centers to troubleshoot, meet customers, and supervise vendors to ensure scope and codes compliance. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission-critical facilities (data centers, power generation, or related sectors). Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering field with 3+ years of Controls experience; or Associates degree with 5 years of Controls experience; or High School diploma with 8 years of Controls experience. Minimum of two years in Controls or Electrical construction project coordination with multiple teams or vendors. Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of construction or project management experience. Electrical or mechanical Journeyman License. Operating engineer licenses such as DC II, DC III, or equivalent. Experience in construction or project management.
