What You’ll Do The Superintendent will lead and manage all field construction activities on a major multifamily project located in Rochester, MN. You’ll be responsible for all field aspects of the project’s budget, schedule, and general performance. This position may require travel to project locations as they arise. You’ll communicate with owners, architects, engineers, government officials, and the public in a clear, concise, and professional manner. You will coordinate all site construction activities and supervise all field personnel as required to complete the project on schedule and on budget. This includes maintaining the highest quality, supervising all trade and field personnel, and managing construction safety practices on-site. Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized job site at all times and develop positive, professional relationships with stakeholders.
Your Duties Will Include
Develop, maintain, and execute the project plan as laid out by the Project Manager and yourself.
Ensure knowledge and understanding of contract drawings, specifications, addenda, RFIs, and other project information.
Supervise and coordinate all construction activities.
Supervise, direct, coach, and train Assistant Superintendents, Laborers, and Field Interns.
Create site-specific plans and procedures that adhere to safety and record-keeping requirements and Ironmark’s Safety Program.
Obtain necessary information from engineers, designers, inspectors, authorities, and owners.
Maintain a set of complete, up-to-date drawings on site for Ironmark use and meetings.
Manage job site setup and startup processes including safety posting, security, field office layout, utilities, staging, equipment, and manpower.
Develop and refine a computerized project schedule with the Project Manager to meet required dates and manage delays.
Prepare work orders and field change orders; provide daily reports for all projects.
Coordinate, direct, and monitor subcontractor schedules; inspect subcontractor activities for safety and contractual compliance.
Supervise receipt of supplies and on-site labor for safety, quality, accuracy, and workmanship.
Prepare and communicate RFIs with architects, engineers, etc.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years Superintendent experience in ground-up, wood frame, commercial construction; multi-family experience strongly preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Working knowledge of construction management software, Microsoft Project and Procore.
OSHA Training, CPR/First Aid Certification, and LEED training encouraged.
Maintain a clean and presentable appearance with Ironmark apparel recommended at all times.
Excellent leadership skills with proactive, professional communication and integrity.
Must possess a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and access to a vehicle.
