AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Geotechnical Engineer to be based in the Chelmsford, Massachusetts, or Providence, Rhode Island office. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Assist in the planning and execution of geotechnical field exploration and laboratory test programs. Evaluate subsurface conditions to determine geotechnical engineering properties of soil and bedrock. Perform geotechnical analyses for shallow foundations including bearing capacity, sliding and settlement. Conduct seepage and stability analyses for dams, levees, tunnels and natural and man-made slopes. Design deep foundations for buildings, bridges, tanks, and other major structures. Assist in the preparation of geotechnical data reports, geotechnical design reports, and technical specifications. Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required. Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification. Experience with Plaxis, Slope/W, and AutoCAD. Experience in the Water/Wastewater/Transportation Industry. Relevant intern and/or professional experience as a Geotechnical Engineer. Ability to work with a diverse team. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Detail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big picture. Experienced, self-directed professional. Ability to multi-task and be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlines. Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment.
