We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with 5-10 years of experience in the aerospace industry to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in designing complex aerospace systems, including aircraft structures, propulsion systems, avionics, or other critical components. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop innovative designs that meet rigorous performance, safety, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

Conceptual Design: Develop initial design concepts for new aerospace products or modifications to existing products. Detailed Design: Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software (e.g., CATIA V5/V6, SolidWorks). Analysis & Simulation: Perform structural analysis, thermal analysis, fluid dynamics simulations, and other relevant analyses to validate designs. Prototyping & Testing: Oversee the creation of prototypes and coordinate testing efforts to verify design performance against specifications. Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs comply with industry standards (e.g., FAA, RCC319 regulations) and internal quality requirements. Documentation: Prepare comprehensive technical documentation including design reports, test plans/results, FMEAs (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), etc. Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing engineers, production teams, quality assurance personnel, suppliers, and customers throughout the product development lifecycle. Innovation & Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities for design improvements by staying updated on industry trends/technologies; contribute ideas during brainstorming sessions or design reviews. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field. A Master’s degree is preferred but not required. U.S. Citizenship required per ITAR regulations. 7-10 years of experience as a Design Engineer within the aerospace industry or other high reliability environments. Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred). CATIA a plus. Strong understanding of engineering principles and related material science. Experience conducting various types analyses such as structural/thermal/fluid dynamics using tools like ANSYS is a plus. In-depth knowledge relevant aerospace standards/regulations such as AS9100. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes, implement effective solutions, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functional teams; project management experience; attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all aspects of work.
