Electrical Senior Project Engineer - Mission Critical Facilities at Stantec. The MCF Senior Project Engineer, Electrical guides the electrical technical design of data center projects as subject matter expert, mentor, and resource to the technical team. Position delegates, leads, and directs work of Project Engineers and Designers. The Senior Project Engineer conceptualizes, executes, and ensures quality throughout the design process to meet client needs and expectations. The role includes supervisor and mentor responsibilities for junior staff and serves as a resource to other project engineers. The data center industry is continually evolving, and this is an ideal opportunity for candidates who enjoy working on technically challenging projects that require cutting edge designs. Aside from the preferred locations listed, this position is open to any location with a Stantec office presence, for the right candidate. Responsibilities

Assists the business development team in new project pursuits by providing input on RFPs/RFQs and participates in project interviews and presentations. Manages technical project process and scope of work within own discipline; reviews and tracks scope, schedule, and budgeted hours; resolves inconsistencies with the project manager. Delegates tasks to project engineers and designers within own discipline as appropriate. Follows quality management process; conducts project reviews and approvals before all QA/QC reviews done by the technical authority. Builds and maintains strong client relations; communicates project requirements, progress, challenges, and troubleshooting to clients and technical staff. Leads technical discussions and mechanical workgroups with project stakeholders as a trusted advisor, identifies key requirements, and adapts design to meet project objectives. Coordinates with all disciplines to fully integrate work and client requests into design. Acts as supervisor and resource to the technical design team; supports staff education, training, and development. Participates in the data center engineering/professional community to stay current with new requirements and technologies, and to pursue professional growth (e.g., meetings, seminars, conferences, or trade articles). Identifies opportunities to improve and standardize project deliverables (details, specifications, etc.) across Stantec MCF business centers. Contributes to development of design guides, technical memos, calculation templates, etc. as they pertain to data center design. Capabilities and Credentials

Extensive experience in mission critical/data center design concepts. Experience on large-scale projects with varied stakeholders. Comprehensive knowledge of engineering practices, concepts, principles, codes, and standards in own discipline and basic knowledge of other disciplines. Strong problem-solving skills. Able to conceptualize and develop solutions for multifaceted systems and interactions with varied components. Strong communicator who conveys scope, schedule, and budget to clients, coworkers, and technical teams. Adept at writing comprehensive reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Proficient in software (Autodesk, BIM 360, Revit, MS Excel); working knowledge of power systems software (e.g., SKM) and power cable ampacity calculation software (e.g., CYME CYMCAP) preferred. Knowledge of the construction process and its interaction with design. Organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and collaborative; able to independently resolve complex problems within the engineering discipline. Education and Experience

Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience required. Minimum 7 years related industry experience preferred. Mission critical/data center experience required. Registered professional engineer (PE) license or other professional certification based on expertise required. About Stantec
