Overview
The RF Manufacturing Engineer III develops and implements advanced manufacturing methods, working closely with the engineering and production teams on product design, for the development of cutting-edge RF devices. Primary emphasis on design of hybrid microcircuits, including chip and wire assembly and die packaging. Develop and implement manufacturing processes related to the development of advanced RF equipment. Focus on manufacturing areas such as die bonding, wire bonding, gap welding, eutectic die attach, ceramic and soft substrate integration, chip and wire assembly, hybrid microcircuits, and thin/thick film assembly. Improve and incorporate package design guidelines for ease of assembly and manufacturability, including heterogeneous package technology. Evaluate manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, test, tooling, and materials; consult with equipment vendors; solicit observations from operators. Develop, build, and refine production/manufacturing engineering processes in partnership with engineering and production on product design and tooling for efficient production. Develop relationships with external companies specializing in specific manufacturing techniques to meet challenging performance requirements. Work with lab and cleanroom technicians to implement manufacturing methods for prototype and pre-production assemblies. Participate in company meetings to support goals, status reporting, and department improvements. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Minimum five (5) years of experience in RF manufacturing environment. OR nine (9) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. OR three (3) years of experience may be considered with a Master’s degree. RF SoC technology expertise is strongly preferred. Strong communication skills and a proven track record of process development and implementation. Experience in a manufacturing, product assembly, and design engineering environment. Applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Additional Information
This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware controlled by ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws. Ability to obtain a U.S. Government export license as required by law. Pay Range: $92,185.86 - $115,232.32 annually. Actual pay may vary based on location, job function, education, and experience. Equal Opportunity
