Design, develop and implement observability solution that is a critical part of Visa’s operational system, while influencing Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class observability solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings Work with key stakeholders in product development, infrastructure and operation teams to provide the best quality and high reliability observability solutions that fit their business needs Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of tracing and cloud observability solution Lead a team of system and software engineers. Provide coaching and support to achieve highest quality of work Essential Functions
Works with key stakeholders to gather and refine requirements for tracing and cloud observability solution Develops and designs advanced cloud observability and tracing solutions that are robust and scalable, considering integrations with other solutions across the internal technical ecosystem Provides domain expertise on the development of user documentation of solutions and implements standard processes in user documentation Plays a significant role in the development and delivery of new features within a product from end-to-end The Skills You Bring

Basic Qualifications 8+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience Preferred Qualifications 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD 2-3 years experience leading teams. Number of years of relevant experience is flexible if you have an excellent track record Expertise with one of the development languages, like Python, Java System level knowledge, Linux, Windows, etc Good understanding of public cloud (AWS, GCP or Azure) Good understanding of popular tracing solutions, like OTEL Proven experience delivering highly scalable and available production systems Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills Strong business acumen, ability to grasp big picture and explain to team in simple terms Track record of hiring and managing world-class software/system engineers Experience with Agile methodologies, leading scrum ceremonies and software development lifecycle principles Understanding of architecture and operations of highly available and scalable transactional systems Ability to manage multiple competing top priorities in a fast-paced environment Experience working with diverse teams and stakeholders Additional Information

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time. Mental/Physical Requirements:
This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
