The Impact You’ll Make
As a Mechanical Engineer at Lam, you're designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Your role involves feasibility studies, testing, and guiding teams in detailed design and fabrication. You provide the crucial design information needed to shape our technology's packaging.
What You’ll Do
Job Responsibilities
Create engineering requirements based on product vision or marketing research specification Ability to drive development of the product based on engineering requirements and interaction between engineering hardware and wafer process. Must be able to define and manage complex, multi-disciplinary (ME, EE, SW) projects and be able to direct support personnel, engineers, technicians, to meet project milestones. Responsible for performing mechanical engineering research, design, development, modification, and evaluation. Determine design approaches using Thermal and Structural FEA analysis tools as required. Propose, review, and evaluate designs. Generate and/or direct layout/design activities and verify accuracy of final documentation. Analyze and select components and equipment, as well as evaluate supplier capabilities. Design and conduct independent experiments or tests. Define problems and objectives, develop approach, analyze results and provide recommendations. Direct and manage design implementation of required changes and modifications.
Minimum Qualifications
Who We’re Looking For
Experience on system level understanding of equipment design, gas delivery system, and plasma chamber design. Requires thorough understanding of machine mechanics, thermodynamics, and fluid engineering. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 12+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 8+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience. Extremely knowledgeable using 3D CAD tools; knowledge of ProE and NX is a plus Strong hands-on experimental and design background coupled with solid engineering skills Succinct presentation skills; present progress on large cross-functional initiatives at executivelevel meetings Strong skills and experiences in problem solving, time and priority management, communication, and project management Strong design background coupled with solid engineering skills

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
Salary
CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $119,000.00 - $259,000.00.
The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
