Employment Type: Full-time Work Schedule: Hybrid - 3 days in-office, 2 days remote Salary Range: $120,000-$150,000, based on experience Career Level: Mid-level Location: Irvine, CA or Long Beach, CA General Responsibilities As a Mechanical Engineer, you will lead and manage all phases of healthcare-focused projects-from proposal development through construction completion. You'll apply advanced engineering concepts, perform complex calculations and modeling, and oversee design, specifications, and working drawings. You'll also mentor junior engineers and collaborate with clients and subconsultants to deliver high-quality results. Design & Technical Leadership
Apply advanced engineering concepts to solve complex HVAC and medical gas design challenges Perform detailed engineering and economic calculations and modeling Troubleshoot operating systems and resolve technical disputes Develop specifications and construction estimates for large healthcare projects Peer review large-scale designs and reports Project Management
Administer project budgets, schedules, and deliverables Seal drawings and provide direction to design teams Mentor less experienced engineers and assist with time management Lead construction meetings and produce documentation including punch lists and meeting reports Represent P2S at professional meetings and industry events Education & Certification
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Professional Engineering (PE) License (California preferred) Additional certifications are a plus Experience Required
5-10 years of engineering design and/or project management experience Strong mechanical/HVAC design capability in healthcare and acute care settings Familiarity with HCAI codes and standards, FGI Guidelines, and NFPA-99 Comfortable presenting complex engineering concepts to clients and stakeholders Project management experience is a plus Working Knowledge
