BIOPAC Systems, Inc.
Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Hardware / PCB Design Engineer
to lead the development of complex embedded systems featuring
high-speed microprocessors/microcontrollers ,
FPGAs , DDR memory, Ethernet, WiFi, and Bluetooth. This position blends
high-speed digital design
and
PCB layout
with
power-supply engineering
and seamlessly interfacing to precision
analog circuitry . Responsibilities
Design and layout
4+ layer PCBs
in
Altium Designer
with BGA processors, DDR memory, and FPGAs. Implement
controlled impedance routing , differential pairs, and length-matching for DDR and other high-speed signals. Perform
signal/power integrity analysis
and ensure compliance with manufacturer layout guidelines. Design low-noise
multi-rail power supplies
and sequencing for microprocessors, memory, and analog circuits. Work as a team with software and firmware developers as well as production and testing staff. Qualifications
B.S./M.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. 5+ years in
high-speed PCB design
(DDR, USB, Ethernet, LVDS, etc.). Strong knowledge of
transmission line theory , stack-up design, and EMI/EMC best practices. Proficiency with
Altium Designer
and SI/PI simulation tools (e.g., HyperLynx). Experience integrating with analog front ends (low-noise amplifiers, filters, ADC/DAC interfaces). Excellent organizational skills and communication skills. Preferred
Experience with
Microchip SAM9X7
and
Xilinx Spartan-7 . Experience with CODEC integration Knowledge of analog circuits (amplifiers and filters) Power-supply design for sensitive mixed-signal systems. This is a
