Summary
Are you an experienced electrical engineer with a passion for powering critical infrastructure? We're looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer with power systems expertise to join our multidisciplinary team and lead the electrical design on impactful projects in water, wastewater, irrigation, structural, transportation, and civil engineering. In this role, you'll bring your technical knowledge to power distribution design, medium voltage and 480V systems, electrical system evaluations, dry utility undergrounding, and utility coordination, as well as instrumentation and control (I&C) design. You'll collaborate with a dedicated group of professionals who are committed to delivering reliable, efficient, and forward-thinking solutions for the communities we serve. Key Responsibilities :
Manage multiple concurrent Electrical Design projects.
Work with other Senior Engineers, Project Engineers, and Project Managers to provide a quality experience for our customers and successful project integration.
Review proposals to ensure technical accuracy for your projects.
Collaborate with engineering teams on coordinated Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, and Controls Design.
Assist with managing department projects.
Mentor and supervise other engineers.
Conduct periodic visits to construction sites to monitor quality and progress.
Coordinate with government agencies, client staff, and other professionals to obtain design information and approvals.
Travel locally and occasionally out of state for meetings or field work.
Exercise discretion and judgment in all work tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and / or Experience
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program and at least 15 years of relevant experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
PE License required: valid in Nevada, California, Oregon, Montana, Arizona, and Alaska (with ability to obtain additional licenses as needed).
Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in designing industrial and building electrical systems.
Coordination of electrical plans for PCIS and SCADA projects.
Proficiency in electrical schematics, panel design, and project documentation.
Experience with site design, including power supply, backup power, lighting, metering, VFDs, solar, security, undergrounding, and lighting design.
Coordination with structural, mechanical, civil, and controls teams, as well as utility companies and agencies.
Knowledge of NEC, Arc Flash, IEEE standards.
Ability to produce system diagrams, network diagrams, and detailed project documentation.
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
