The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Platform Structures team in Mesa, AZ has an exciting opportunity to join as a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to support the AH-64 and AH-6 helicopters as well as new development programs. The team also supports a broad portfolio of products including Commercial Aircraft, Fixed Wing Fighters, Satellites, Space Exploration Crew Station, and more. Boeing Structural Analysts solve challenging problems and work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the structural integrity of the product through a variety of analysis methods and tools, documenting and presenting results for customer and regulatory approval. Analysts may work on a wide array of systems including airframe, rotating components, rotor blades, drive systems, flight controls and tooling required to support aircraft design and build, special research and development projects, and more. Position Responsibilities: Plan and organize structural analysis work at the program level to assure total compliance with structural integrity and stability requirements Develop, integrate and document complex or unique structural requirements to establish the system design Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product\'s environment Guide product design and verify structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance of the product Work with customers and regulatory agencies to define certification processes that will ensure requirements are met Review and approve certification results Develop test plans and configurations, support test execution and analyze/report test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications Define and organize test programs to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied Develop analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort Investigate emerging technologies to develop future product designs to meet projected requirements Work under consultative direction Onsite Requirement:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Security Clearance:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science 14 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience Experience performing stress analysis using both hand calculations and finite element tools Excellent presentation and communication skills Preferred Qualifications/Desired Skills
Bachelor\'s degree or higher in Mechanical, Structural, Civil or Aerospace Engineering or Physics from an ABET accredited program Experience in aircraft and/or static structures stress analysis Experience with engineering and design software (CAD/3D packages such as UG/NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, CREO) Experience with finite element models / simulations (PATRAN, NASTRAN, ABAQUS, ANSYS, Hypermesh, LS-Dyna, Optistruct) Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Experience with Boeing engineering design tools (CATIA, PDM, etc.) Experience with design and analysis of metallic and composite materials Education/Experience
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and typically 14+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
