Overview
Hokuʻula Eye Care is seeking a dedicated Optometrist to join their growing team in Kamuela on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. Located in a relatively remote area, the practice serves a vital role in the community, providing care to patients of all ages and managing a wide range of ocular conditions. With a strong focus on staying current with the latest advancements in eye care and technology, Hokuʻula Eye Care offers an excellent opportunity for an Optometrist to work 24 to 40 hours per week in a supportive, collaborative environment. Responsibilities
As an Optometrist, you’ll provide comprehensive eye care in a supportive, well-equipped practice, working between 24 and 40 hours per week.
You’ll conduct detailed eye exams, prescribe and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses, and diagnose and manage a wide range of ocular conditions, including glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
Patient education will be a key part of your role, as you counsel individuals on vision care, treatment plans, and preventive strategies.
You’ll collaborate with other healthcare providers as needed and maintain accurate, thorough documentation.
The practice features advanced technology, including OCT, Optos, Keratograph, Optilight IPL, Cynosure RF, A- and B-scan, and corneal topography, supporting you in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
You’ll treat approximately 17 to 20 patients daily.
Qualifications
OD degree, active Hawaii state licensure with TPA.
Strong commitment to continuous learning, exceptional communication skills, and a genuine passion for providing high-quality eye care.
Preferred Specialties
Dry eye, contact lenses, pediatrics, geriatrics, disease management.
