Location: RAAF Base Tindal, Australia (initial site San Diego, CA for temporary assignment prior to deployment). Travel up to 10% of the time. Clearance: Top Secret; SCI access and SAP clearance may be required. This position is on-site in Australia with no remote work. Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Field Service Engineer – Network and Communications to support MQ-4C Triton program at the FOB in Australia. The selected candidate will work under the site lead with responsibilities for operations and maintenance of the MQ-4C Triton network and communications systems at the Forward Operating Base (FOB). The role may involve temporary domestic assignment and international deployment as the program requires. Responsibilities

Provide real-time support for flight operations and maintenance, addressing issues related to communications and networking including fault isolation, remediation, and resolution. Perform field integration, troubleshooting, and repair of communications and data link systems in a military flight-test environment (flightline, hangar, and command-and-control centers). Adhere to checklists and procedures; provide redlines to procedures when necessary. Communicate complex technical issues to local support, the Degrader Action Cell (DAC), Main Operation Bases (MOBs), and Responsible Engineers (REs). Support and lead air crew engagement for proper techniques in solving complex technical problems during operations. Assist with trend analysis as needed for REs. Review and analyze supplier design data; define functional test requirements including acceptance, qualification, and system integration. Test, maintain, and integrate communications and networks equipment (radio terminals, software loads, switches, routers, firewalls) to support ground and flight test operations. Collaborate with system admins, maintainers, and onsite personnel to troubleshoot and repair internal operational issues. Basic Qualifications – Principal Field Service Engineer

Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field with 5 years of related engineering experience; or Master’s with 3 years; or PhD with 1 year. DoD 8140 IAT Level II (or higher) certification (e.g., Security+CE, CCNP, CISSP) obtainable within company-defined timeframe. Competence in Linux, troubleshooting, engineering documents, tools and equipment; familiarity with comms/networking operations. Ability to relocate to and support at RAAF Base Tindal, Australia for a minimum of 18 months; ability to pass a new hire physical if required. Active DoD Top Secret clearance (or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation); ability to obtain and maintain SCI access, CI Polygraph, and SAP clearance within a reasonable time frame. Basic Qualifications – Senior Principal Field Service Engineer

Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field with 8 years of related engineering experience; or Master’s with 6 years; or PhD with 4 years. DoD 8140 IAT Level II (or higher) certification obtainable within timeframe; Linux and networking troubleshooting proficiency; familiarity with comms/networking operations. Ability to relocate to RAAF Base Tindal, Australia for a minimum of 18 months; ability to pass a new hire physical if required. Active DoD Top Secret clearance (or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation); ability to obtain and maintain SCI access, CI Polygraph, and SAP clearance within a reasonable time frame. Preferred Qualifications (Both Levels)

Active DoD 8140 IAT Level II+ certification (e.g., CCNA Security, Security+CE, CCNP, CISSP). Technical expertise in network and computer hardware/software interconnection and interfacing (routers, firewalls, switches); experience with test equipment (network/spectrum analyzers, signal generators). CCNA certification; experience with IP networks, VoIP, Information Assurance, satellite and LOS RF communications, and co-site interference. Field site Operations and Maintenance experience. Salary Ranges

Primary Level Salary Range: $82,900.00 - $124,300.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $103,200.00 - $154,800.00 The salary offers consider scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses where applicable. Additional Information
