Early Procurement Involvement - Actively participate in product development/manufacturing processes and implement cost reduction measures (design to cost, target costing, standardization, key data, etc.) to achieve target costs for materials and reduce overall material costs. Closely align with SCM, R&D community and Procurement (Commodity Managers, Buyers). Early Supplier Integration - Involve suppliers and contribute to cost-benefit analyses, innovation workshops and concept competitions with key suppliers to focus on key component/project functions. Alignment of Product- and Supplier Roadmaps - Introduce and follow cross-functional Procurement strategies to link internal strategies with technological supplier/market trends. Negotiation and Supplier Management - Execute supplier negotiation, contracting and supplier management in alignment with Commodity Management for local and business-specific suppliers. Strategy deployment - Prepare and drive cross-functional sourcing decisions with interface partners considering overall business and purchasing strategy. Supplier Management: Technology - Assess and develop suppliers jointly with interface partners to concentrate on best suppliers according to the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Business support - Provide input for quotes, workshops, scope of material (BoM assessment) and realization of potential savings for projects (e.g., Atellica ramp up). Knowledge management - Participate in workgroups/projects to stay informed and share information; partner with cross functions on site, within Procurement and within the Business Area Diagnostics/Healthineers. Industry experience in Chemical/Biological fields Minimum of 8 years' work experience with some years in technical procurement Experience in supplier interfacing, communication with suppliers and project management Ability to analyze material cost breakdowns and accuracy based on market values; professional negotiation experience and skills Negotiation skills Advanced technical skills assessing supplier capabilities Complex problem resolution Excellent written and oral communication skills Global mindset & good networking skills Self-determined and goal oriented, strategic, proactive and a team player with drive to implement changes Open-minded; experience with novel IT tools is preferred Required skills
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required (Life Science; Bio-Engineering disciplines preferred) Minimum of 5 years experience in the Medical Technology industry Willing to travel up to 15% Who we are

The Annual Base Pay for this position is Min $114,400 – Max $171,600. Factors affecting starting pay include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and qualifications. If applicable, commissions follow the company plan and are based on individual and/or company performance. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; life insurance; disability insurance; paid parking/public transportation; paid time off; paid sick and safe time.
