1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicants Job Title: Manager – ESS Project Engineering We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager to lead the Project Engineering team for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects from Notice to Proceed (NTP) to Commercial Operation Date (COD). This role is critical in ensuring project success by driving technical excellence, overseeing project execution, and fostering collaboration across internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction, mentor engineering teams, and work closely with Project Management Organizations, EPC contractors, customer’s engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, on-time, and on-budget energy storage projects. This position reports to the Director of Technical Solution. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Lead and mentor a team of Project Engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration. Provide guidance, training, and professional development to support team growth and project execution success. Set performance goals, track progress, and ensure accountability within the project engineering team. Project Oversight & Execution Oversee technical execution of BESS projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives, contractual requirements, and industry standards. Ensure seamless coordination with R&D, Application Engineering, and Project Management teams to meet customer commitments. Manage and approve design modifications, retrofits, and rework activities, balancing project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Technical Documentation & Compliance Management Oversee the development, review, and approval of technical documentation, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and accessibility. Ensure projects adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. Lead efforts to enhance documentation processes, improving efficiency and knowledge management. Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication Act as the primary technical liaison between internal teams, EPC contractors, customer’s engineers, and customers to drive project success. Support Sales, Business Development, and Project Management teams by providing expert technical input on project feasibility and execution risks. Engage with key stakeholders to resolve technical challenges, streamline processes, and optimize project execution. Testing, Commissioning & Quality Assurance Provide oversight and leadership for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), commissioning, performance testing, and interconnection testing. Work closely with engineering teams to resolve technical issues, ensuring smooth project delivery and customer satisfaction. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project quality, reliability, and efficiency. Risk Mitigation & Problem-Solving Proactively identify and mitigate risks that could impact project timelines, costs, or performance. Develop and implement strategies to overcome engineering challenges, ensuring successful project execution. Continuously evaluate best practices and emerging technologies to enhance BESS project performance and reliability. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field. 5+ years of experience in energy storage, power systems, renewable energy, or related industries. Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams and overseeing complex technical projects. Strong expertise in BESS technologies, grid interconnection, power system engineering, and SCADA integration. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
