Tetra Tech is seeking a Senior-Level Mechanical Engineer with a preferred minimum of 10 years of related experience to join our team currently serving our Department of Defense (DOD) clients. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a professional engineer (PE) license.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of engineering practices, ASME codes, API standards, and principles related to engineering and design supporting the construction, inspection, and repair of DOD fixed fuel receipt, storage, and dispensing systems. This position requires the employee to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.

Your Role
Supervise and participate in collaborative efforts supporting the Tetra Tech's Fuels program. Typical activities may include: Management of projects engineering, design, and inspection projects for fixed aviation and ground fuel storage and dispensing systems. Development and review of engineering and design deliverables, systems repair/construction submittals, and project specifications. Provide off-site management and support of on-site fuel system design, inspection, or repair/construction activities at multiple project locations concurrently. On-site support of inspection and assessments of petroleum handling infrastructure and related projects. Develop and implement design plans and monitor work activities to ensure project execution adheres to established criteria and specifications. Resolve technical, engineering, design, and constructability issues to enhance project effectiveness. Manage the development of design drawings and related data. Assist with business development and proposal preparation supporting continued growth of Tetra Tech’s engineering services. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering Experience depicting engineering and design supporting new construction, inspection, and repair of wetted military fueling systems. Minimum of 10 years’ experience with engineering and design supporting the repair, or construction of military fuel storage, handling, and dispensing systems. Experience managing engineering and/or design projects related to military fueling systems. Professional Engineering license Industry certifications from API, STI, or NACE are desirable. Working and practical knowledge of United Facilities Criteria, United Facility Guidance Specifications, and Standard Designs governing military fueling systems. Proficiency in engineering support software such as AutoCAD, Caesar II, KyPipe or other surge analysis software. Working knowledge of SpecsIntact, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Must be able to obtain a DOD Common Access Card (CAC) within the first 6 months of employment and/or pass a Favorable Background Investigation (FBI). Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
