In this role you will lead and work on a variety of challenging projects, which may include large site developments, stormwater management studies, floodplain analyses and mapping, and other related work across industries. Client types may be private, local, state, or federal. You will develop and manage clients and opportunities, lead people, and contribute to the success of the Texas / Louisiana regional strategy. You will work with our diverse and talented team of civil engineers in Texas and Louisiana to support the growth of our team and our place in the regional market. Responsibilities

Lead projects as Project Manager, managing a diverse team of engineers, technicians, and subconsultants. Coordinate with clients, regulators, contractors, architects, and other design disciplines, as the project point of contact. Support projects as Senior Civil Project Engineer, or other roles as appropriate. Perform or supervise design and analysis for site, grading, utility, and drainage tasks. Be responsible for project management aspects, including oversight of project schedule, financial performance, adherence to PM and quality control plans, and adequacy of risk management plans. Provide construction services as requested by the client, including construction site visits. Business Development

Engage with clients to develop new business leads and project pursuits. Lead new opportunity pursuits, proposal preparation, and contract negotiations. Represent the firm in the market through involvement in client and industry events and associations. Collaborate with local and national WSP market experts to provide clients with innovative and future-focused solutions. People and Performance Leadership

Manage and mentor people and support growth and professional development. Contribute to the management, growth, and development of the Civil and Drainage Engineering teams. Focus on meeting Key Performance Indicators and contribute to the overall success of the Texas / Louisiana Region. Who You Are

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or related field. Professional Engineering License (PE) in Texas. Minimum 7+ years of relevant post-education experience in civil and drainage engineering analysis and design, with at least 7 years in Texas. Proficient knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, processes, and application to site civil and water resource projects through analysis, design, permitting, and construction. Strong knowledge of Stormwater Management, Drainage, Hydrology & Hydraulics Design, Watershed Studies, Floodplain Delineation, etc. Proficient with surface water analysis, hydrologic methodologies/models, hydraulic models, and project delivery tools including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, Bluebeam, and ArcGIS. Working knowledge of 2D Hydraulic Analysis (HEC-RAS 2D) and its application to floodplain risk mapping. Knowledge of construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping; ability to coordinate with agency regulators and obtain site development permits (CLOMR/LOMR) and other design permits. Project management experience managing civil and drainage projects including proposals, budgets, schedules, staff allocation, subconsultant management, and design deliverables. Experience with client development and management to create new project and client opportunities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both engineering and non-engineering audiences. Demonstrated leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization in a dynamic environment. Ability to work independently and provide guidance to junior team members, with strict QA/QC adherence. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills applied to data analysis and project delivery. Experience coordinating and directing subconsultants and others to complete tasks safely and efficiently. Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements; occasional travel may be required. Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering Project experience in the Houston area and with the Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD) Project experience in the Austin area and with the City of Austin Watershed Department Professional Engineering License (PE) in Louisiana Project experience in Louisiana Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification About WSP
